Job Description
Under the general direction of the Director of Accounting, the Controller is responsible for the financial and general office processes for MonteVista Homes and affiliated entities.Compensation:
$85,000 - $100,000 yearlyResponsibilities:
I will manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting team including direct management of the Staff Accountant and Accounts Payable Specialist and all responsibilities and ensure that work is done efficiently and timely.
I will review and manage the automated AP for coding accuracy and import to Mark’s System timely and accrue for outstanding invoices if needed.
I will manage cash management including processing wire payments and reviewing cash management work performed by the Staff Accountant and Accounts Payable Specialist
I will prepare all entity financials including but not limited to ensuring all journal entries are booked correctly and financials are accurately created by the month-end due dates and review land development financials.
I will assist in monthly financial package preparation including internal deliverables and preparing deliverables to investors.
I am the full back up support to the Staff Accountant, Accounts Payable SpecialistQualifications:
Construction job cost-based accounting knowledge with an understanding of Direct and Indirect costing methodologies.
Mark Systems Software
People skills to articulately and professionally handle communication with customers, employees, and vendors and treat all stakeholders with respect and consideration.
Accounting and Finance ability to maintain accurate records, schedules, and filing systems. A four-year degree in accounting or equivalent is typical.Organizational aptitude to manage a multi-person and time demanding department.
Computer aptitude and willingness to learn to process needed systems and to communicate via reports, spreadsheets, and letters.
Experience with insurance procurement and audit procedures.
Understanding of draw processes and to insist upon accurate reporting to/from subordinates, banks, and outside consultants.
Ability to hold confidential information that is proprietary to the management of MonteVista Homes.About Company
