The VP Investment Advisor leads new client acquisition and retention through a broad knowledge of investment solutions, in a highly regulated environment. It will also be responsible for managing different discretionary and non-discretionary portfolios for high-net-worth individuals according to the client’s investment time horizon, liquidity needs and risk profile.
This role is primarily responsible for client experience and engaging Bci Securities resources to deliver a complete wealth management solution. Responsible for sale and implementation of investments products to core clients in Latin America – Central and South America region. The candidate also, will have to participate as a voting member of the investment committee, where they discuss the outlook, corresponding investment theses, and diverse asset allocation strategy for the firm using both his/her economic and market knowledge/expertise. The role also entails serving clients from Bci affiliates: CNB.
DUTIES OF THE POSITION
The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
a) On a day-to-day operations
Trading on clients account, day-to-day operations and settlements, complying with the Financial Industry Regulation Authority (FINRA).
Send confirmation to clients, check Balances, Margins, Items for Attention.
Create Investment proposals, ensuring that they fit client needs, risk profile and suitability.
b) Portfolio Management
Portfolio management and Risk Control of portfolios for High-net-worth individuals.
Develop investment recommendations backing by fundamental analysis, technical analysis and efficient portfolio theory.
Understand and implement the strategies of specific instruments to the portfolios, including but not limited to equities, mutual funds, fixed income, structured products, options, currencies, commodities, Yankee-certificate of deposits and alternative investments, among others and perform the corresponding manager due diligence across asset classes.
Participate and lead, the structure of new products and efficient processes and procedures of the firm including the implementation of different models to select investments by performing qualitative and quantitative research.
c) Firm Investment Strategy
Active participation creating the overall firm investment strategy.
Active participation in the Investment Committee and establishing our viewpoint of the economy and markets outlook and risks.
Participate in the daily morning market meetings for the firm.
c) Relationship Management
Build trust with clients and effectively manage relationships, inform the client on any market movement or news as necessary.
Manage each account assigned, and balance the portfolio according to the client’s needs.
Maintain the relationship on a regular basis, communicating the firm views and offering different alternatives that will maximize the client needs, goals, and objectives.
d) Others
Flexibility to support other areas like operations including client onboarding, account opening and other operational process (wire transfer, ACH, Account transfer and journals ACATs, internal reporting, among others)
Ability to understand, speak (fluently), read and write English and Spanish
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to multitask and work under pressure
Effectively speaking before groups of customers or employees
Assume evolving duties and responsibilities of position
Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (including, weekends, evenings and holidays as needed)
Travel as required
Provide coverage for other positions as requested
Ability to carry and lift boxes and/or other objects that may weigh between 10 and 25 pounds
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:
COMPUTER:
Ability to operate personal computers; fluency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Pershing NetX360, Bloomberg, among others.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration or Engineering .
MBA or Master of Science or similar will be considered.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Series 7, Series 66 required.
Other Series will be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
Required at least 6 years of previous experience in the Financial Markets Industry, Equity or Fixed Income Trading Desk and Portfolio Management experience.
