Position Overview

The Warehouse & Forklift Lead is responsible for leading daily warehouse operations while ensuring safety, accuracy, and efficiency. This individual must be cross trained in all yard functions and demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. Duties include supervising staff, enforcing safety protocols, operating forklifts, and supporting order fulfillment activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise warehouse staff in daily operations

Perform and oversee safety checks on all warehouse equipment

Operate forklifts to move a variety of materials (e.g., angle iron, mortar, concrete, sandbags)

Pick, wrap, and stage customer orders for shipment

Load/unload delivery trucks and verify materials against orders

Paint using spray gun and cut steel using shears or cutting torches

Maintain detailed work records and inspect all deliveries and outgoing orders for accuracy and quality

Assist with inventory counts and warehouse documentation

Resolve conflicts and provide feedback to improve department effectiveness

Enforce yard safety rules (e.g., PPE use, forklift seatbelts, etc.)

Perform other duties as assigned

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time exempt salary position. The standard hours of work for this position are Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to close. However, due to the nature of the role, occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines and business demands.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)

Forklift experience required; must pass an on-site forklift test

Must be able to lift and move 100-pound bags of cement

Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Outlook

Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and leadership skills

Ability to remain organized and manage team priorities effectively

Understanding of warehouse documentation, procedures, and safety standards

Computer Use:

This position requires basic personal computer skills but does not require prior professional computer experience.

You must:

Be able to use a mouse and keyboard

Have a basic familiarity with Microsoft Windows

Have a basic familiarity with reading and sending emails in Microsoft Outlook

Tasks you will be trained to do:

Saving, renaming, and moving files in Microsoft Windows

Scanning documents

Data entry into pre-made Microsoft Excel spreadsheets

Eligible after 1 year of service (must be 21 or older).

Employer matches 100% of deferrals up to 3% of compensation.
