Position Overview

The Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) will lead centralized RCM operations for a multi-site Dental Support Organization (DSO) with 165+ practice locations. This role is accountable for optimizing cash collections, reducing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), mitigating insurance denials, improving operational efficiency, and fostering strong collaboration with Operations and Field teams.

Key Responsibilities

Performance & Cash Flow Optimization

Maintain DSO under 45 days, with a target of <30 days for General and <125 days for Ortho.

Ensure clean claim rates exceed 98% and collections rates remain above 98%.

Monitor KPIs and proactively implement strategies to maintain benchmarks across all practices.

Comprehensive RCM Oversight

Lead the full spectrum of dental RCM functions, including credentialing, insurance verification, claim submission, A/R management, denial resolution, and vendor relationships.

Oversee and optimize offshore BPO operations (insurance verification, payment posting, A/R follow-up).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Office Managers, Regional Managers, and Directors to drive best practices in documentation, point-of-service collections, and denial mitigation.

Facilitate communication between RCM and field operations to ensure alignment and accountability.

Technology & Process Improvement

Optimize and standardize the use of dental practice management systems (e.g., Denticon, EagleSoft, Open Dental, Dentrix Ascend) and clearinghouses (e.g., DentalXchange).

Implement payer rules, centralized billing protocols, and automated workflows to enhance revenue cycle performance.

Performance Monitoring & Leadership

Conduct monthly performance reviews with Finance, RCM, and Operations leadership to assess trends, address challenges, and identify areas for process refinement.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to best-in-class RCM practices.

Required Experience

7+ years of dental RCM experience, with a minimum of 3 years in DSO leadership at the Director or VP level.

Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, multi-site dental RCM operations.

Expertise with dental software platforms including Denticon, EagleSoft, and DentalXchange.

Proven results in:

Achieving and maintaining sub-45 day DSO.

Sustaining 98%+ clean claim and collection rates.

Leading offshore BPO teams.

Deploying RCM technology and process improvements.

Building collaborative relationships with operations leadership.

Core Competencies

In-depth knowledge of dental billing, insurance coding, and compliance.

Stronge experience leading, training, and managing large Revenue Cycle Management teams effectively.

Excellence in A/R oversight and denial management.

Change management and strategic implementation skills.

Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

Performance Metrics

Success in this role will be measured by:

Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and A/R aging trends.

Clean claim rate and first-pass resolution.

Collection rate as a percentage of production.

Denial rate and resolution speed.

Staff productivity and quality benchmarks.

Satisfaction scores from field leadership.

Implementation and performance of RCM technology initiatives.

This role is location at our Corporate Support Office in Dallas, TX.
