Overview

As a Surgery/Radiology Scheduler, you will be an integral part of our clinical team, primarily focused on efficiently scheduling radiology procedures, specifically X-rays. While your primary focus will be radiology scheduling, there may be opportunities to assist the surgery scheduling team as needed. This is a dynamic and high-volume position requiring excellent multitasking and prioritization skills. You will be responsible for managing a daily schedule of patients, ensuring accurate appointment times and efficient utilization of provider schedules. This will involve becoming familiar with our various providers and the estimated time required for different procedures to allocate appropriate time blocks.

Responsibilities

Efficiently schedule radiology procedures, primarily X-rays, ensuring accuracy and optimal patient flow

Collaborate with the radiology and surgery teams to coordinate scheduling needs

Familiarize yourself with individual provider schedules, procedure durations, and any specific scheduling requirements

Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointment details, preparation instructions, and any necessary follow-up

Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records within our electronic medical record (EMR) system

Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts and proactively find solutions to ensure minimal disruption to patient care

Provide occasional support to the surgery scheduling team as needed

Answer phone calls and address patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner

Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support the smooth functioning of the clinic

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum of 6 months of surgery scheduling experience or 1 year of medical reception experience

Strongly preferred experience with Athena or other electronic medical record (EMR) systems

Demonstrated longevity with previous employers, indicating reliability and commitment

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of scheduling requests

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and scheduling

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, providers, and colleagues

Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and problem-solve effectively in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in basic computer skills and navigating electronic systems

A positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent patient service

Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00AM - 5:00PM)

Compensation: $20.00 - $24.00 Hourly
