Duties and Responsibilities:

**Develop, manage, and maintain the financial aid module of the Banner database.

**Coordinate testing of new or upgraded systems applications relating to the Banner financial aid module.

**Manage and maintain Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) of student loans.

**Oversee and manage the timeliness of reporting information from Banner to the Federal Student Aid Programs.

**Utilize Banner to increase productivity and efficiency across areas benefiting from automation, as related to financial aid (Dataload, Tracking, Awarding, Disbursing).

**Coordinate with other relevant departments to define and create efficient programs for customized reports and ad hoc queries from Banner.

**Conduct workshops to teach financial aid recipients how to utilize MyUH, assist with answering student questions, and address any challenges in applying and obtaining financial aid.

**Attend professional development training to increase knowledge and understanding of Federal Student Aid Regulations and Policies, Banner, and other 3rd party software systems.

Ability to work nights and or weekends. Travel may be required to attend training or to serve remote or outreach locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Professional Work Experience:

Possession of a baccalaureate degree in any field and three (3) year of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for educational services or information systems; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques in the area of Higher Education as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standards and evolving concepts, principles, and methodologies.

Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and theories and systems associated with Higher Education.

Demonstrated ability to resolve wide-ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative, and timely manner.

Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.

Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.

If applicable, for supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.

Desirable Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to analyze, recommend, and implement Banner to automate tasks manually.

Demonstrated ability to define/create efficient programs for customized reports and ad hoc queries from Banner.

Demonstrated knowledge of financial aid systems (i.e. Edconnect, Electronic Data Exchange, ELM/NDN)

In-depth knowledge of the operating systems (Windows), Microsoft/Google work suites

Demonstrated experience with financial aid information systems, computer programming, and management information systems.

Considerable knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies about financial aid.

Demonstrated ability to exercise professional independent judgment in determining the design, approach, and methods necessary to carry out complex assignments.

Demonstrated ability to work with students, including disadvantaged and minority student groups.

Demonstrated experience with computer programming (e.g. sql, html, C+, etc).
