Job Description
Commission PLC controls for food process, product handling and packaging equipment for a global company that builds innovative production machinery. They are seeking a Controls Engineer to work in their Dallas area facility. The company has been in business since 1950 and is a world leader in modernized processing equipment used in food, pharmaceutical, and other industries around the world.
Requires about 25% Travel to customer sites.
Job Responsibilities
Design or Review automation and network design layouts of our equipment
Commission PLC controls for food process, product handling and packaging equipment
Work with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical) to deliver projects
Advise and assist the Sales and Project teams to win new business (Advisor to costing, design and controls related questions to the project).
Design training material or manuals as it relates to controls
Design and/or supervise design of electrical or electronic control systems
Design and/or supervise design of PLC, HMI and SCADA control systems
Supervise electrical installations of partners
Commission systems and train operators and plant engineers as it pertains to the equipment or system controls
Travel about 25%
Maintain current awareness of trends and techniques industry technology trendsRequired Education and Experience
Electrical engineer experience
Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience programming PLC systems from scratch (RedLion, Allen Bradley & Siemens)
Knowledge of the workings of system control panels
Experience in the food industry a plus
Experience in a continuous process environment
Evidence of creating Method Statements and Risk Assessments
Experience using AutoCAD, preferred
Experience with SCADA or MES system preferred
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
