Specimen Technician

Job Description

Pride Health is hiring a Specimen Technician to support our client’s medical facility, which is based in Rogers, AR.

This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location: Rogers, AR

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 12 p.m. to 9 p.m

Pay Range: $16- $18 (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume

Job Requirements:

Perform general support functions in the Specimen Processing Department, such as A-station, presort, specimen pickup/delivery, imaging, centrifugation, and aliquoting.

Ensure all tasks are performed accurately, confidently, and on time in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Understand various specimen types and compliance regulations related to test orders, which may change daily.

Meet productivity/quality standards, including 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour.

Work flexible schedules including night shifts, weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to safety and compliance policies.

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic computer skills; familiarity with laboratory testing/specimen processing is a plus.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; adaptable and flexible to change.

Work Experience:

Prior laboratory experience or background in medical/laboratory terminology preferred.

Experience in a hospital laboratory or clinical lab setting is a plus.

Previous work in a production environment is desirable.

No formal experience required, but related medical or lab background is advantageous.
