Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC/Mechanical Estimator to join our team, specializing in commercial HVAC and mechanical projects. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience in estimating commercial HVAC and mechanical systems, proficiency with estimation software, and strong communication skills. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop accurate cost estimates and ensure project success.
Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for commercial HVAC and mechanical projects, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine scope and requirements.
Utilize estimation software to develop bids and cost proposals efficiently.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure comprehensive and competitive estimates.
Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotes to determine the best value for the project.
Identify project risks and opportunities to optimize cost efficiency.
Maintain and update cost databases, historical data, and pricing information.
Assist in developing bid strategies and presenting proposals to clients.
Support the pre-construction team with value engineering and cost analysis.
Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project expectations.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience as a commercial HVAC/Mechanical Estimator.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, mechanical equipment, and industry standards.
Proficiency in estimation software (such as Trimble Accubid, QuickPen, QuoteSoft, or similar).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop competitive and accurate estimates.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work on multiple estimates simultaneously.
Knowledge of local building codes, industry regulations, and construction best practices.
