Cost Accountant

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and reporting cost-related activities, helping the company control expenses, improve profitability, and make informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with sales team to improve and tighten the current quote process for new products

• Perform post audit for existing products, compare the actual vs expected profit

• Maintain the standard cost and update annually in system

• Prepare cost variance analysis and investigate discrepancies by product

• Perform inventory analysis and actively involved in physical count process

• Support month end and year end close processes with various tasks

• Collaborate with operations and sales teams to understand cost drivers

• Assist in annual operation budget

• Provide management with cost related insights and recommendations

• Any ad hoc tasks from management team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• CPA designation is an asset

• 3 years of cost accounting experience in tier 1 or tier 2 automotive industry is preferred

• Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting

• Experience with ERP systems, preferably IQMS.

• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical thinking

•\tContract and Direct Placement: Technical placement of engineers, designers, drafters, as well as additional technical professionals in various industries.
