Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Carson, CA.
Job Description
• Create detailed 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks
• Attend product development cross-functional team meetings
• Review DFM from multiple countries and vendors to support sourcing and quoting process
• Negotiate manufacturing tolerances with suppliers and internal customers
• Make corrections or revisions to 2D or 3D models. Models may be SolidWorks native data or non-native STP/IGES/DXF data.
• Running basic FEA simulation on 3D models to validate vendor suggestions
• Coordinating with other team members to obtain relevant information for drawings
• Adhere to tight and dynamic deadlines
• Supporting sampling rounds by referencing CAD measurements against sample measurements
• Take ownership of all technical aspect of families of product
• Regularly update PMs and non-technical members of cross functional teams
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mechanical Preferred
• 5+ years of engineering experience
• Injection Molding DFM experience
• Experience reviewing injection Mold tool plans
• Ability to use SolidWorks to manipulate non-native data (STP/IGES/DXF)
• Ability to work CAD feature trees created by other users
• Basic understanding of surface modelling
• Up to date with the latest industry trends and developments
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented and highly motivated individuals
• Communicates technical information to non-technical partners in an easy-to-understand manner
• Ability to complete work on-time and according to deadlines
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities
