Description
The Engineering Manager will provide direction and follow-through for the removal of waste at our Henderson TN site to help improve customer satisfaction and improved investor profitability.
How You Will Help
Interface with customers to resolve problems, act on price changes and provide technical expertise to promote ideal customer relations and future sales. Assist customers with problems regarding product discrepancies and non-conformance with requirements and documentation problems
Assist estimating and sales departments in determining the nature of engineering work required and proper price levels
Responsible for the preparation of cost savings initiatives and subsequent projects
Prepare for required reports, records, and data requested by the Management team including goals, forecasts and budgets
Responsible for the acceptance or rejection and obtaining satisfactory disposition of non-conforming material or product and for providing credit returns for customer material with quality defects
Oversee implementation and functionality of the plant's ISO 9001:2000 Quality Program on a daily basis
Serve as member of the Hanger Product Team, combined with cross-functional members from Sales, Marketing, Logistics and Finance
Attend technical committees that write the specifications for pipe supports
Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager What You Will Bring
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey quality standards and procedures.
Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to identify defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and ISO standards.
Data Analysis: Ability to analyze data and generate reports to track quality performance and identify trends.
Project Management: Skills in managing quality improvement projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external auditors.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Audit Skills: Experience in planning, conducting, and overseeing audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience within a manufacturing environment
Certifications: Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE), Lean Six Sigma Certifications, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) are preferred.
