Job Summary:
Performs maintenance and may perform line set-up activities in accordance with approved procedures. Analyzes and troubleshoots the root cause of packaging equipment problems and implements effective corrective maintenance repairs to provide increased reliability. Follows standard procedures to complete tasks, some of which may vary in scope, sequence, complexity and timing. Refers deviations from standard procedures to the supervisor. Troubleshoots maintenance issues with assistance. Applies skills and knowledge to increase efficiency, throughput and quality. Can set up equipment, if applicable. Identifies and solves moderately complex problems. Makes decisions that require choosing from limited options. Performs work tasks in such a manner as to not waste material or time. Interfaces with external vendors and service providers.
Responsibilities
Proactive Maintenance
Performs preventive and predictive maintenance tasks on all Packaging Equipment according to the frequency written in the SOP.
Performs condition-based monitoring while PM are being performed, and notes problems or changes in the comment section of the PM form.
Adheres to Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategies utilizing a pro-active approach to minimize equipment downtime.
Follow and comply with company safety and OSHA regulations.
May maintain inventory supplies, such as glue, parts, tools, etc.
May regularly inspect and document hazardous waste storage area to ensure RCRA compliance.
Reactive Maintenance
Troubleshoots problems or breakdowns on filling, printing, labeling &verification, case packing, capping and sealing, palletizing equipment and other packaging equipment in the department.
May work on manufacturing equipment as required.
Master Cleaning
May assist in Master Cleanings and/or set-ups of the equipment in Packaging including the breaking down, cleaning, re-assembling, and startup of equipment.
Cleaning, Polishing & Challenging of Tooling
Contributes to team and project success by sharing previously acquired knowledge.
Collaborates typically within own cross-functional work unit and occasionally with contacts outside own unit or department.
Teamwork & Collaboration
Conforms to all training requirements, including company required and machine specific training.
Training
Follows all applicable SOPs, including, but not limited to, lock-out, tag-out and PPE requirements.
Safety
Completes project assigned work in a timely fashion.
Projects
Attends all Production, Maintenance, and other meetings when mandatory.
Meetings
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with 5 years related experience and/or certification in assigned area, as required.
Knowledge
Must have solid working knowledge and skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment needed for the position.
May require working knowledge of Non-destruct Test Methods.
Knowledge of processes described in SOPs and where to find/how to use SOPs.
Knowledgeable of cGMP regulations and processes.
Skills & Abilities
Ability to use Blue Mountain for PM execution and utilization of Apple tablets to complete PM and MSRs desired.
Ability to use and read test instruments.
Possess at least five years related experience.
Ability to learn and perform equipment maintenance, repair and set up, and becomes Qualified.
Ability to troubleshoot with assistance.
Qualified and demonstrates competence in packaging equipment set up.
Ability to troubleshoot with assistance.
Ability to assess and perform PM tasks.
Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and/or blueprints.
Must be proficient in troubleshooting and repair in two or more of the following areas:
Electrical
Hydraulics
Pneumatics
Mechanical
PLCs
Basic math, writing skills, and excellent problem solving abilities. Must be able to speak clearly, listen and gain clarification, and respond well to questions.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to use hand tools.
Control Precision - ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for long periods of time (12 hour shifts).
Lift at least 50 pounds.
Climb ladders.
Wear a respirator and pass associated respirator tests and/or requirements.
Able to wear all required PPE, including safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety shoes.
Reaction Time - ability to quickly respond with manual dexterity to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
Dexterity - ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
Vision - ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
Hearing - ability to detect or tell the differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness.
