Software QA Engineer

Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Software Engineer at Viable, you’ll test, verify, debug, and develop software solutions to applications developed in a range of domains from web applications to Windows applications. You will also be responsible for developing documentation for test plans, APIs, and user manuals. Familiarity with technical writing, markup for common workflow tools, and general familiarity with office suite tools are also significant.

Responsibilities:

Software development for various projects at the same time

Testing for various projects at the same time

Debugging; ability to find and identify the cause of bugs

Creating technical documentation using both markup tools and office suite

Creating testing plans, which includes documentation related to testing

Writing automated software tests which may involve prebuild testing (unit testing) and post build testing (integration tests, web tests, etc.)

Performing manual tests for web applications

Develop using the C# language with the MVVM design pattern

Develop using other web based technologies; Javascript frameworks such as ReactJs

Develop software solutions utilizing SQL based databases

Create presentations and reports detailing progress

Develop web applications and design front ends for web applications

Create diagrams to explain functionality and design

Maintain and develop maintainable code in a team of developers

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or higher in Computer Science or related field

Prior experience with object oriented design

Experience with several programming languages: C# and related languages, Python, SQL, Javascript and related frameworks

Prior experience with software quality assurance, or 2 or more years of experience in software development

Experience with networking technologies and web technologies

Experience with tools used for software development: source control, IDEs, developer tools for web browsers

Experience with business tools which may include Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, Confluence, etc.

Ability to debug software applications: identifying bugs and fixing bugs
