JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The Sanitation Support Worker will be responsible for inspecting products and equipment for conformity to Federal and State sanitation laws and plant standards, performing cleaning of equipment and work areas, and inspecting premises for unsanitary practices and conditions. This role will also involve maintaining a clean and sanitary work area, performing equipment tear downs for cleaning and maintenance, and performing preventative maintenance on sanitary equipment. Additionally, the Sanitation Support Worker will be responsible for keeping accurate records, maintaining a stock of chemicals, supporting packaging warehouse operations, and adhering to all SOP's, HACCP guidelines, UDA quality, safety, and GMP policies and procedures, as well as performing other duties as required.

SCHEDULE: 12 HOUR SHIFTS: 5AM-5PM; WORKING A 2-2-3 SCHEDULE (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on; followed by 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off in a given biweekly payroll period)

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspect products and equipment for conformity to Federal and State sanitation laws and plant standards.

Perform the cleaning of the outer surfaces of equipment and work areas.

Inspect premises for unsanitary practices and conditions and following all State and Federal Regulations

Always maintain a clean and sanitary work areas.

Perform equipment tear downs for cleaning and maintenance.

Perform preventative maintenance on sanitary equipment.

Perform daily forklift maintenance.

Keep accurate and legible records.

Maintain a stock of chemicals for various areas of the plant and Water Care.

Receive bulk and packaged shipments of cleaning and sanitation chemicals as well as water treatment chemicals and store them in their designated areas.

Support packaging warehouse operations including delivery of packaging materials and goods as well as waste disposal and upkeep of associated areas.

Maintain security on chemical storage areas.

Adhere to all SOP’s and HACCP guidelines.

Adhere to all UDA quality, safety and GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.

Other duties as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires ability to walk and stand for 12-hour shifts.

Requires ability to work outside during varying weather conditions.

Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry items up to 55lbs.

Requires ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals.

Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings and resolve any discrepancies.

Requires ability to hear and speak.

Requires ability to climb ladders and stairs of various heights including floors of 100ft or more.

Requires ability to frequently hear and speak in very noisy environments.

Requires ability to work in varying extreme hot, cold, and wet temperatures and conditions.

Requires ability to work in confined spaces frequently.

Ability to sit and drive a forklift for extended periods of time.

Ability to operate a boom lift or similar heavy equipment.

Requires a clean valid driver’s license

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills & Abilities:

Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.

Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.

Experience:

General food manufacturing processes

Basic computer skills

Education/Certifications:

High School Diploma or Educational Equivalent

Forklift Certification
