Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Evening/Night Shift
Job Summary
Under the supervision of a licensed practitioner, manager, or Registered Nurse, the EMT assists with both direct and indirect patient care in accordance with Virginia Board of Nursing guidelines. Responsibilities include providing support with daily living activities, comfort care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic tasks. The role also involves ensuring a safe environment, maintaining medical supplies, and transporting patients within the hospital while adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Assist patients with daily activities, nutritional support, and comfort care.
Perform selected diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under supervision.
Maintain a clean and safe patient environment with adequate inventory and supplies.
Transport patients within the hospital while following safety guidelines.
Maintain and apply advanced transport medical knowledge.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Paramedic Studies preferred.
Experience: One year of EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate, or Paramedic experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Virginia EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate, or EMT-Paramedic certification (Required).
National Registered EMT (Preferred).
AHA BLS-HCP and ACLS (Required).
PALS, HazMat Awareness, NRP, and PHTLS/BTLS (Within one year of hire).
Other Requirements:
Maintain continuing education hours for recertification.
Note: EMT-Basics are not eligible for this role.
Compensation & Schedule
Pay: $18.70 - $26.18 per hour (+ shift differentials).
$1.00 weeknights $2.00 weekends $6.00 holidays.
Schedule:
Evening/Night shift.
Every other weekend & rotating holidays required.
No on-call requirements.
