POSITION SUMMARY:

The HR Generalist provides administrative support to the Human Resources Director (HRD) on all personnel matters. They are responsible for processing various HR Department forms, including evaluations, employee payroll information, and tracking competencies for JCAHO compliance. The Specialist assists employees and applicants with Human Resource issues, performs administrative and clerical duties, and supports the HRD as needed. Additionally, they participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (QAPI) activities. QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Associate's degree with four years of experience in personnel management; a bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field is preferred.

Skills:

Knowledge of personnel management principles, including COBRA, Wage and Hour regulations, and FMLA.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to gather and analyze data effectively.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and embrace new ideas and best practices.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in group presentations and meetings.

High ethical standards and professional demeanor.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide customer service by responding to employee inquiries and requests in a timely manner.

Conduct benefits enrollments for new or transitioning full-time employees by the 15th of the month prior to eligibility.

Verify I-9 documentation and ensure employee files are up to date.

Submit online investigation requests and assist with new hire background checks, addressing any related questions.

Reconcile benefit statements and forward termination paperwork to the carrier promptly.

Review payroll reports, communicate with the Finance Department, and ensure payroll, 401(k), and FTE reports are processed bi-weekly, within 5 days of payroll.

Enter payroll data into the online payroll system for processing.

Audit payroll, benefits, time clock attendance, and other HR programs, recommending corrective actions as necessary.

Update the HR master employee database monthly with new hires, pay rates, licenses, and benefit eligibility.

Assist with terminations, completing necessary paperwork and payroll change forms.

Help prepare performance reviews and communicate with the management team to ensure evaluations are completed.

Assist with recruitment and initial interviews, referring candidates to department managers.

Schedule meetings and interviews with staff, candidates, and vendors as requested by the CHRO.

Maintain the earned time off (ETO) bank and work with IT and Payroll to ensure employees have access to accurate data.

Update ETO accrual rates based on employee anniversary dates.

File papers and documents into employee files weekly.

Assist employees with 401(k) plan enrollment and updates.

Schedule employee-related meetings for benefits updates and other personnel-related matters.

Assist the CHRO with special projects.

Perform other duties as assigned by the CHRO and CEO.
