Shipping Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate movement of product in and out of the facility. They manage a team, coordinate shipments, ensure timely delivery, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. This position is Monday-Friday 9:30 PM-6:30 AM. Some weekends and OT required.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervising the day-to-day activities of the staff and department.

Facilitate workflow management, workforce scheduling, and placement to ensure the facility and company goals are successfully met or exceeded

Implement and maintain safety standards throughout area of responsibility as required by law and company policy

Create and foster a high morale workplace with the highest ethical standards by treating all team members with dignity and respect

Ensure all proper processing procedures (quality, safety, etc...) are adhered to and not compromised

Monitor and make appropriate timely improvement actions necessary to meet production quality and quantity goals

Utilize problem solving techniques, teamwork building strategies and process control tools to efficiently meet or exceed the production schedule

Conduct, lead, or implement the appropriate process audits; the audits will identify the need for appropriate containment, corrective, and preventive actions, leading to minimizing or eliminating process deviations and non-conforming product root causes

Work cross functionally to ensure the department is operating to the highest level of efficiency

Assist with pre-operation activities as directed

Evaluate employee performance and implement personnel actions related to: compliance of company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping through the application of fair and consistent accountability methods.

Facilitate and recommend additional training on safety procedures, operational protocols, and equipment.

All employees are expected to adhere to their scheduled working hours and attend work consistently to ensure smooth operation and effective teamwork.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma. Secondary degree preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or warehouse/shipping environment.

SAP experience preferred. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, data management, analysis, and reporting.

Must be available to work some weekends and holidays.

Must have strong leadership capabilities with excellent communication skills, allowing for good working relationships within close working environments.

Must thrive in dynamic situations, embracing changing circumstances and be flexible to change direction as needed.

Must have a valid driver's license

Pre-employment physical and drug screen required.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on the site including exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is required. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in cold, hot, and outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.

Physical Demand:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arms and fingers, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina and vision.
