An Aerospace and Industrial Manufacturing company is looking for an Electrical Controls Engineer to join their team in Cleveland, OH. The Controls Engineer will work with both Senior Electrical Engineers and Maintenance Technicians, acting as the crucial first level of electrical support for the maintenance team in the wheel manufacturing plant providing leadership, coaching and clear direction to assist with electrical maintenance issues and meeting customer demand, solve technical problems, and meet production goals. Responsibilities include coordinating with the maintenance supervisor to plan daily scheduled maintenance activities for PLCs and/or robotics, assisting in root cause analysis of unscheduled maintenance, coaching, supervising and training skilled craftspeople and apprentices in the repair and maintenance activities of their assigned shift and areas. You will have Senior Engineers to escalate any questions to. Ideal candidates will have experience with PLC troubleshooting (programming helpful but not necessary).
This position is a direct placement, full time W2 position with room for advancement. Schedule is 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, 6:00pm - 6:00am and is subject to minor changes, with ample notice. Occasional overtime opportunities are presented depending on business conditions.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
HS or GED diploma
3-5+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing or military environment
Strong communication skills and able to verbally delegate between hourly electricians
Experience troubleshooting PLCs and/or robotics - ABB/Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc preferred
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Associates or Bachelor's Degree
Experience in Electrical Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, Controls Specialist or Engineer
Hydraulic or combustion training
Experience with pneumatics
Any leadership or mentorship experience
