Position Overview:
The K-8 Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall management, vision, and success of all aspects of Fusion, Center of Life's (COL) K-8 after-school program, and Camp Hazelwood, the K-8 summer program. COL's K-8 programming exists within a broader comprehensive approach to engaging families, public and private schools, and community partners to ensure that all students enrolled in COL programming reach their highest potential and receive the support and enrichment they need to thrive. The K-8 Program Coordinator is responsible primarily for ensuring that the program's operations are in place to ensure high-quality program delivery. This includes oversight of all day-to-day logistics; recruiting, retaining, and developing a high-quality staff; supporting the Education Programs Manager on the implementation of program curriculum; and fostering relationships with the students, families, and community at large. The Program Coordinator is responsible for creating an engaging, innovative, and learning-focused atmosphere that promotes discovery and leverage of students' natural aptitudes toward the individual's success. The Program Coordinator supports compliance with all delivery of services to the educational, ethical, and legal standards as well as to the core values and mission of COL.
Primary Goals, Duties, and Responsibilities:
A. Administrative
1. Oversee all aspects of quality of care, safety, and operation of K-8 programming
2. Lead student registration process, with support of D&E Team
3. Lead the development of a highly skilled and trained staff, including the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, evaluation, and facilitation of supervision of all Fusion and Camp Hazelwood staff
4. Directly supervise all full-time annual K-8 staff and support with supervision of part-time K-8 staff
5. Support Education Programs Manager on Staff Orientation activities
6. Manage payroll, hours, and time-off requests for hourly staff
7. Lead weekly Fusion team meeting to discuss relevant program challenges, updates, and plans
8. Ensure implementation and adherence to all COL and Program Policies and Procedures
9. Manage all program resource procurement, including the assessment and ordering of academic supplies, furniture, educational materials, etc.
10. In collaboration with the Education Programs Manager, develop yearly budget for K-8 programming, and maintain records of budgetary disbursements using COL budget expense tracking forms
11. Support monthly Professional Development for all Fusion staff by relaying staff needs and interest to Education Programs Manager
B. Program Content and Development
1. Develop age-appropriate curricula for students in grades K-8 that addresses academic, social/emotional, and developmental gaps in student progress (in collaboration with Assistant Coordinator) and based on assigned topic area, including: Literacy, Numeracy, Art, Science, Tech, Wellness, Athletics
2. Synthesize all curriculum contributions into a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum strategy for the overall program
3. Produce lessons plans in keeping with approved curriculum
4. Develop, communicate, and implement regularly updated program schedules and plans
5. With support from Education Programs Director, identify and implement assessments to evidence progress and/or needs of students in K-8 Programming in curriculum areas
6. Integrate findings from Data & Evaluation team into program curriculum, lesson plans, approach, and structure
7. Take ownership over program's Objectives and Key Results, and ensure quarterly progress
8. Develop student-level assessment plan and individualized support interventions as needed
9. Oversee planning efforts for all program events beyond classroom/lesson planning, such as field trips, Family & Community participation activities, performances/presentations, and off-site partnership activities (with support from Assistant Coordinator)
10. Facilitate music and art enrichment opportunities in coordination with COL's music, art and community programs
11. Work with the Education Programs Manager and Management team on strategic and long-range program planning objectives
C. Relationship Building
1. Act as main point of contact for all K-8 Programming information, taking the lead on communications with parents, program staff, and other COL personnel
2. Create and maintain channels of communication for parents and staff
3. Develop and foster positive relationships with parents and families; meet regularly with Family Engagement staff to develop a comprehensive approach for engaging the families of children within K-8 programming
4. Develop a plan for school outreach and relationship building, with support from Assistant Coordinator & Family Engagement Staff
5. Build working, trusted relationships with teachers and families to involve COL in educational strategies emerging from the school system (e.g., IEPs (Individualized Education Programs))
6. Support Assistant Coordinator in developing strong working partnerships with organizations in order to secure enrichment experiences
7. Work with COL Marketing Staff to develop and grow social media presence
8. Represent COL during site visits by funding and community partners
D. General COL Expectations

Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or related field
· 5-7 years of experience working in Education or in a role that has direct contact with kids aged K-12
· Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including conflict resolution skills
· Proven track record of success in youth education and development
· High energy, flexibility, willingness to collaborate, and proactivity
· Pennsylvania criminal and child abuse clearances as well as FBI criminal background
· Commitment to the mission of COL
