Description
EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of 4 years' experience in general manufacturing or a minimum of 5 years' experience in general quality control.
BACKGROUND / SKILLS
• Need to have mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret drawings and requirements
• Read and interpret weld specifications to determine weld acceptance.
• Competence in use of inspection, measurement, and test equipment (including hand-held gages such as micrometers, calipers, height gages) in use in the Lineside Quality Lab.
• Competence in the use of all power equipment (e.g. Band saw, Cut-Off Saw) needed for inspection sample preparation
• Microsoft Office proficiency required (Basic level) including Excel, Word and Power Point.
• Basic understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T).
SPECIAL TRAINING / CERTIFICATES
• To be determined by position as needed and Associate Development Program.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Assurance Lineside Quality Non Exempt Specialist must be able to:
• Adhere to the Safety Policy and practices and report any potential unsafe condition or concern to the Safety department immediately and/or to your direct supervisor.
• Follow all company policies and regulations per the associate handbook or other written standards that apply to his / her job assignment.
• Effectively locate and use drawings and understand how each specification applies to the part or component.
• Conduct all tests and inspections required to determine product acceptance based on Lineside Quality Checksheets.
• Record Inspection results on applicable documentation (e.g. Lineside Quality Check Sheets).
• Evaluate a proposed countermeasure to a problem and determine if it will be successful.
• Understand the effect of process or component variations and propose changes to correct them
• Analyze trend or other data to assess the capability of a process and work with appropriate departments to correct any negative results.
• Must demonstrate leadership when needed; can lead groups of associates in a team environment.
• Properly communicate findings of an investigation to departmental management.
• Develop sort criteria for suspect product, and coordinate sorting activities as needed.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by Quality Assurance Department management and support all shifts as required.
