Engineering Designer

An established Engineering Consulting Firm based Greater Philadelphia area, is seeking an experienced MEP designer who brings positive energy and is ready to make a career move driven by leadership aspirations, timing, stability, and long-term value.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and proficiency in AutoCAD to create and modify system drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities · Develop detailed 2D CAD drawings of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, lighting, fire alarm systems etc.) from engineer’s sketches and markups · Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure design accuracy and completeness · Revise drawings based on redlines, feedback, and field changes · Maintain drawing organization and adhere to company CAD standards · Assist in preparing drawing sets for permit, bid, and construction · Collaborate with other design disciplines (e.g., architectural, structural) to resolve potential conflicts Qualifications · Proficiency in AutoCAD (minimum 2–3 years of experience) · Experience with mechanical system drawings (HVAC, plumbing) is required · Understanding of building codes and mechanical design standards · Ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and blueprints · Strong attention to detail and organizational skills · Experience with Revit or other BIM tools is a plus · Associate degree or certification in CAD drafting or related field preferred
