Job Title: Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer Company: Vivax-Metrotech Location: Santa Clara, CA Job Type: Full Time, Salary Vivax-Metrotech develops and manufactures products for buried utility locating, fiber-optic cable locating, ferrous metal detection, coating analysis and performing ACVG surveys on cathodic protected pipes, finding sheath to ground faults on cables, inspecting the interior of pipes and ducts, and mapping of buried utilities.

Located in Santa Clara, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley, Vivax-Metrotech Corporation designs and manufactures buried utility locating instruments and video inspection equipment.

At Vivax-Metrotech as a Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of our software products.

You will be responsible for executing test plans to identify software issues and maintain a high standard of product quality for our Locators and Cameras.

This role requires a detail-oriented, analytical mindset, strong communication skills, and a passion for technology where the focus is on teamwork and ownership of each task.

Responsibilities: Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure software quality development projects.

Perform manual and automated testing to identify bugs, defects, and performance issues.

Collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and functional specifications.

Use various testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to aid in the QA regression process.

Identify and track software defects, document them thoroughly, and follow up for resolution.

Contribute to the development of automated testing frameworks and scripts for efficiency in testing.

Conduct root cause analysis of identified defects and provide actionable insights.

Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software quality assurance.

Participate in team meetings, sprint planning, and project discussions to ensure QA alignment with project goals.

Lead the Quality Assurance Engineers in the software development and release processes.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 3 years’ experience in a formal QA/Testing role.

Experience working with offshore teams.

Proven experience in software quality assurance, preferably in an Agile environment.

Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

Proficiency in creating test plans and automated testing.

Familiarity with scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills.

QA SDLC process experience in test strategy and test plan creation.

Experience in testing web-based applications, Load, and Performance Testing Tools.

Preferred Qualifications: QA certifications are a plus.

Comprehensive understanding of the legal frameworks that govern European law.

Proficient in reading and writing Ukrainian, and Polish.
