Lead Frontend Developer – £115,000–£120,000

Remote Full-time Permanent

I'm working with a long-established, fast-scaling SaaS business that’s looking for a Lead Frontend Developer to join their growing engineering team. My client is investing heavily in product innovation and team expansion as they scale towards an ambitious growth target. This is a brilliant opportunity to lead the frontend function of a mission-critical enterprise platform used by major global organisations.

Role:

You’ll play a pivotal role as a hands-on technical leader, owning the frontend architecture and delivery across a modern, agile product environment. You’ll manage a team of four frontend engineers (across EU time zones) and work closely with the executive leadership team, including the CEO and incoming CTO.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a product-focused setting—solving complex UI challenges, not building brochureware or basic web apps.

Details:

Team: Lead 4 engineers in a high-performing, distributed team

Methodology: Agile pods, 2-week sprints

Reporting Line: Close collaboration with CEO; current CTO in advisory capacity

What They're Looking For:

Deep expertise in React—you know it inside out

Strong experience migrating applications to frontend-first architecture

Solid understanding of building UIs that interface with Java backends

Confident technical leadership within agile product teams

A background in product/platform development, not traditional web agencies

Comfortable leading and mentoring in a remote-first environment
