Job Description

Job Summary: The Laser Operator's primary responsibility is to laser-cut quality flat and rotary die boards and to perform regular maintenance on the laser cutting machines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities-Additional duties may be assigned

Prepare flat and rotary die boards by reviewing work orders, specifications,and blueprints

Verify CAD files match customer order requirements

Test burn tolerances and make required adjustments to machine settings

Check the color-coded pens and pointages on the computer

Change gas levels and replace tanks when needed

Cleaning machine optics and general housekeeping of work area

Identify nonconforming material during inspection activities and issue RMA requests

Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations

Documents actions by completing production, quality and maintenance logs

Document processing time on job cards and in CyFrame

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Not a complete list

High School graduate or GED Equivalent

Ability to read, write, and speak English

Ability to read and understand blueprints

Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32"

Practical understanding of manufacturing, equipment and workflow

Minimal knowledge of power tool operations

Basic computer knowledge

Works independently

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for duration of shift

Frequently walking back and forth between departments

Must be able to hear to listen to instructions

Frequently lifting/carrying die boards (50+ pounds)

Must be able to distinguish between colors
