Janitor

Job Description

North Jersey Friendship House is looking for a part-time Janitor to work at various locations in Northern New Jersey.

Shift:

Monday through Friday (After 3 pm for a total of 4 hours) and Saturdays (After 3 pm for a total of 5 hours)

Essential Functions Include:

Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.

Gather and empty trash.

Service, clean, and supply restrooms.

Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.

Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using specific cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.

Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.

Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.

Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

Any other duties deemed necessary for the cleanliness of the building.

Requirements:

Minimum: 1-year previous janitorial experience preferred.

Ability to handle multiple projects.

MUST have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
