Job Description

Talent Source is seeking skilled HVAC Technicians to join our team and work in the shipyards of San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems on marine vessels. This is a great opportunity for experienced technicians looking to apply their expertise in a dynamic shipyard environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems aboard ships and vessels.

Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.

Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.

Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installations and repairs.

Handle refrigerants and ensure compliance with EPA regulations.

Replace defective parts, including compressors, motors, fans, and thermostats.

Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and other shipyard personnel to ensure proper system operation.

Maintain accurate service records and documentation of work performed.

Adhere to all safety regulations and shipyard protocols.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; HVAC certification preferred.

Minimum of 4 years of experience working with HVAC systems.

Strong knowledge of HVAC system components, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.

EPA 608 Certification for refrigerant handling preferred.

Ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights aboard vessels.

Proficiency with hand and power tools related to HVAC maintenance and repair.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Willingness to work in a shipyard environment, including exposure to outdoor conditions.
