Position Title: ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Location: CYPRESS, TX

FLSA Class: EXEMPT

Responsible to: DIRECTOR OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

Position Summary: This position is primarily responsible for the design, analysis, and documentation of electrical systems for microgrids, mobile power generation, power distribution, and renewable energy equipment. Duties can involve some on-site commissioning and troubleshooting work. VoltaGrid is a mobile turnkey power generation and distribution solution that helps our clients reduce costs through improved efficiency, reduced fuel consumption, and power load optimization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and review of medium/low voltage electrical power generation, distribution and microgrid systems

Preparation of electrical documentation including Short Circuit, Arc Flash and Coordination, Power System, Grounding, Load Flow, Harmonics, Fault studies, and Transient studies using software such as ETAP/SKM

Preparation of other documentation including area classifications, drawings and reports, fugitive emissions studies, single line diagrams, and electrical BOMs as well as reports associated with electrical system studies

Develop and maintain technical documentation related to electrical systems

Provide engineering support to other departments as needed Educational and Other Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 12 years of cumulative experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience with medium voltage power generation system design (to include distribution line design)

Minimum of 3 years of experience performing electrical studies with ETAP/SKM

Thorough knowledge of applications, electrical codes, and standards (IEEE, NEC, NFPA, API, etc.)

Experience with Power Generation Controls and Automation

Experience with programming Digital Multifunction Relays

Experience developing relay logic, electrical protection, and coordination schemes

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Willingness to learn new technologies and skills

Willingness to learn and adapt to changing technologies and industry practices
