Position Title

Assistant Director of Student Financial Services

Job Description

The selected candidate will report directly to the Director of Student Financial Services. Specific responsibilities include managing Ellucian's Colleague software module, and the necessary systems through the Department of Education; serving as a liaison to the Office of Information Technology; developing Informer reports, and surveys as necessary; implementing the packaging strategies for institutional aid in conjunction with federal/state regulations for federal aid, managing all hardware, and performing other related duties as assigned by the director.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

Maintaining and implementing annual updates to the Colleague financial aid module; creating new award year modules to ensure compliance with federal regulations, Cost of Attendance elements, and rule driven strategies for both packaging and communication management. Testing and maintaining all new software patches.

Integrating the Department of Education's software systems with Ellucian's Colleague Software, implementing changes or corrections to policies, procedures and software to comply with university, state and federal rules and regulations; ensuring compliance of all privacy regulations for the data obtained from the Department of Education.

Proficiency in capturing and recording important data for excel spreadsheets, using shortcuts and formulas functions.

Completing annual and ad hoc reports.

Serving as a liaison to the Information Technology Department at TU.

Training departmental staff on the financial aid software module.

Maintaining and training staff on the protection of our data.

Gathering, verifying, and presenting information for the completion of research projects as assigned by the director.

Attendance will be required at trainings and be able to adapt to the ever-changing regulatory environment at both the state and federal levels.

Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned. Required Qualifications:

Equivalent Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree.

Knowledge/Skill/Ability

Thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations concerning financial aid.

Extremely proficient with Microsoft Suite.

Knowledge concerning higher education financial aid industry.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

A collaborative team player, who can coordinate work effectively with employees, team members, and outside vendors.

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

High attention to detail, demonstrated practice of establishing effective priorities and meeting deadlines. Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in computer information systems or closely related field.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting, using hands and fingers for keyboarding and mouse operation, and focusing on visual details, with occasional standing, walking and lifting light objects.
