Description
Designing and developing mechanical components:Creating detailed designs for machinery parts, including calculations for stress analysis, material selection, and tolerances.
Analyzing system functionality:Evaluating the performance of mechanical systems through simulations, prototyping, and testing to identify potential issues and optimize design.
Project management:Overseeing the implementation of mechanical designs, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, and ensuring project deadlines are met.
Technical documentation:Creating detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports to communicate design intent and manufacturing requirements.
Research and development:Exploring new technologies and materials to develop innovative mechanical solutions.
Troubleshooting and maintenance:Identifying and resolving issues with existing mechanical systems.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, strong understanding of core mechanical engineering principles like mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science, proficiency in CAD software, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical information effectively; for advanced positions, a master's degree and professional engineering license may be required.
