Schedule: Nights; 6pm to 630am or 7pm to 730am [12 hour shifts[; Every other weekend rotation
Sign-On Bonus: up to $15,000
SUMMARY:
The Sleep Lab Supervisor works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Practice Manager, and the Medical Director of the Sleep Disorders Center of Rochester. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and experienced to ensure the highest quality of patient care, staff management, and compliance with industry regulations. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence in sleep medicine.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the sleep lab, ensuring smooth workflow and optimal patient care.
Oversee sleep study procedures, including polysomnography, CPAP/BiPAP titration, and multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT).
Train, mentor, and evaluate sleep technologists and other staff members.
Ensure compliance with accreditation standards (AASM, DNV) and maintain adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Monitor and maintain sleep lab equipment, troubleshooting issues as necessary.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret sleep study results and optimize patient treatment plans.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality assurance initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency.
Manage scheduling of staff and patient appointments to maximize productivity.
Stay up to date with advancements in sleep medicine and integrate best practices into lab operations.
Handle administrative tasks, including budgeting, inventory management, and performance reporting. Policy development, budgeting, and quality assurance initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sleep technology, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
CPR/BLS certification
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field.
Experience with accreditation and quality improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of scheduling and optimizing referral processes related to increasing access to care and reducing under-utilization.
Strong knowledge of sleep study procedures, scoring guidelines, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in sleep study software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment

CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), RTT - Respiratory Therapy Technician - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
