Full-Time Block Manager Waiau, North Canterbury Sheep

WANTED – Full-Time Block Manager Waiau, North Canterbury – 730ha Sheep & Beef Property We are seeking a motivated and experienced person to take on the role of Block Manager for our 730ha sheep and beef property in Waiau, North Canterbury.

The property features a mix of hill and down country, and runs both sheep and cattle.

It is located just 10 minutes from Waiau and 25 minutes from Cheviot.

This farm will be operated in conjunction with our 840ha sheep and beef property in Waipara, North Canterbury.

We are looking for someone who is self-driven, well-organised, confident working independently and honest.

Strong stock handling and pasture management skills are essential, along with good communication and a proactive approach to farm operations.

Key responsibilities include: • Day-to-day stock work (sheep and cattle) • Animal health and treatment • Grazing planning and feed management • General maintenance and some tractor work • Accurate record keeping and data entry • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and agents as needed • Ensuring health and safety standards are met on-farm The ideal applicant will: • Be honest, reliable and motivated • Have proven experience in stock and pasture management • Communicate clearly and work well independently • Have a high standard of record keeping • Be safety-conscious and able to manage risk on-farm • Have at least four good working dogs • Hold a full NZ driver’s licence We offer: • A stunning, newly built 3-bedroom home with office and spacious indoor and outdoor living areas • A varied and rewarding role in a well-supported farming operation • A competitive salary and employment package based on experience and ability For more information, contact Jim Burrows on or to apply, please email your CV and cover letter to
