MRI Technologist

The MRI Technologist position involves performing diagnostic procedures using a magnetic resonance scanner to support patient care at WVU Hospital.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, MRI certification, state licensure, and Basic Life Support certification.

Preferred qualifications include ARRT Certification in Radiography and at least one year of MRI experience.

Core duties include maintaining expertise in anatomy, performing imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, preparing contrast agents, educating patients, and promoting a team approach to Radiology services.

Physical requirements include differentiating shades of gray, standing and walking for 8-12 hours a day, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a strong magnetic field.

Skills needed include the ability to interact with patients and the healthcare team, prioritize tasks, and proficiency in Radiology information systems.
