**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled machinist to engage in vertical milling projects for hydraulic components, including manifolds and porting blocks. This role involves setting up fixtures, loading and unloading parts, and tooling edits.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform vertical milling for hydraulic components, manifolds, and porting blocks.
+ Edit tooling and make necessary adjustments.
+ Load and unload parts efficiently.
+ Set up fixtures for milling operations.
+ Manage offsets and ensure precision in milling.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in CNC operations, specifically in setting up and operating vertical and horizontal mills.
+ Experience with custom setups involving 2-3 axis vertical and 3-5 axis horizontal mills.
+ Familiarity with G&M code and live tool editing.
+ Strong math and trigonometry skills.
+ Ability to work independently to troubleshoot issues without direct engineering support.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ 3-5 years of experience in custom CNC work.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Physical ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds.

**Work Environment**
Work in a very clean manufacturing environment alongside 18-20 machinists and 3-4 programmers. Engage in fast-paced custom work in a team-oriented setting. As part of a mid-sized company, you will have the chance to cross-train and wear multiple hats.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Oregon.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $31.00/hr.
