Computer Aided Design Designer

Job Title: Mechanical/CAD Designer

Job Type: Onsite, Direct Hire

Location: Topeka, KS

Salary Range: 50,000-80,000 (potentially negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors)

Interview Process: 1 virtual interview, final interview onsite

Responsibilities:

Create precise 3D models and shop drawings based on design inputs or third-party drawings

Develop plans, sections, and details from 3D models or architectural documents for medium to large-scale projects

Prepare production drawings with clear annotation and dimensioning, following company standards

Manage drawing sets, revisions, and markups for each project

Translate and plot drawings into other file formats or printed outputs

Produce 3D visuals or renderings as needed for internal or marketing use

Qualifications:

Proficient in 3D modeling software such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD Inventor

Experience with 2D drafting using AutoCAD

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills

Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes

Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing priorities and deadlines

Capable of interpreting and generating technical documents and engineering drawings

Able to effectively communicate technical information, address challenges, and support project needs
