Uplift Strength & Spirit is a holistic health and fitness studio located in downtown Washington, DC in Logan Circle. Our team of 5 specializes in teaching barbell training and other forms of strength training in a welcoming space. We focus on working with clients of all backgrounds to develop strength and nutrition programming that meets their needs and challenges them to reach further. We prioritize mobility, alignment, and injury prevention to promote sustainably increasing strength and wellbeing. In addition, we emphasize the importance of nutrition and lifestyle. Along with our resident health coach, we work closely with our clients to improve habits and address any nutritional deficiencies. Role Description
This is an on-site role for a Personal Trainer for Small Groups at Uplift Strength & Spirit. The Personal Trainer will be autonomous and responsible for coaching semi-private strength training sessions, providing insight and feedback regarding clients' progress to managers, and delivering stellar customer service. They will work closely with clients to ensure proper form and technique, while adapting exercises to individual needs and abilities. The Personal Trainer will also play a key role in promoting a positive and motivating environment for clients to reach their fitness goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of movement patterns and proper lifting form
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work with individuals of diverse fitness levels and backgrounds
Strong understanding of exercise science, sports nutrition, and healthy lifestyle guidance
Consistently punctual, organized, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility
Maintains a warm, energetic, and positive demeanor
Presents a polished, professional appearance in client-facing settings
Confident communicator who enjoys building new relationships
Quick to learn and eager to apply new skills effectively
Sales experience preferred
Required Experience, Education & Certifications
Certification in Personal Training (NASM, ACSM, NSCA, or ACE)
CPR/AED required
Current continuing education credentials
