Electrical Engineer – Panel Design, Motion Control, VFD Programming
Full-Time Onsite Shop Environment
Working with a client seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a hands-on engineering team supporting a fast-paced manufacturing shop environment. This role combines practical troubleshooting with electrical design and programming work.
Essential Functions
Design and develop electrical panels and control systems (230V, 460V AC & 240V DC)
Program and troubleshoot VFDs and motion control systems
Create and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
Collaborate with mechanical engineers and machinists on retrofits and upgrades
Lead installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and automation systems
Ensure all work meets NEC, OSHA, and internal safety standards
Diagnose and repair equipment and facility electrical issues
Evaluate and recommend system improvements to reduce downtime
Develop preventative maintenance schedules and support continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
Open to both hands-on EEs and EETs with a strong interest in design, calculations, and systems
Knowledge of 3-phase power, motor controls, and motion control systems
Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and electrical safety protocols
