Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Specialist to support and optimize our inbound and outbound logistics operations. This role will play a central part in managing shipping processes, coordinating with internal departments, and maintaining strong relationships with freight partners. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in logistics operations, excellent problem-solving skills, and the agility to navigate fast-paced, changing environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesLogistics Operations
Develop, implement, and refine inbound and outbound logistics processes to support operational efficiency.
Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Manufacturing, Finance, and IT teams to ensure alignment across logistics and supply chain.
Forecast shipping needs based on Supply Planning input; communicate proactively with transportation partners.
Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regularly; assist in implementation and compliance.
Monitor and manage shipping and fulfillment costs, tracking performance and resolving variances.Outbound Logistics
Prepare and package items per specification; create packing slips and coordinate pickups.
For international shipments, coordinate cargo pickup, review documentation, and ensure customs clearance.
For domestic shipments, manage ground transport vendors, negotiate rates, create labels, and ensure timely delivery.
Maintain photo documentation before and after packaging.Inbound Logistics
Review shipping status reports; share PO tracking and estimated volumes with Materials and Manufacturing teams.
Coordinate drop-offs and dock scheduling with carriers and internal teams.Customer Service & Issue Resolution
Respond to internal customer inquiries regarding delivery schedules and logistics tracking.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to transportation, inventory discrepancies, and documentation.Data & Performance Tracking
Use logistics data to track performance, identify trends, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in logistics or a closely related function.
Experience working in a technology-driven or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Strong negotiation skills and experience managing third-party carriers and freight forwarders.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Proficiency in ERP systems and logistics tracking software.
Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and lean logistics practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
