Job Title: PLC Controls Engineer

Location: Conway, SC (Onsite)

Duration: Direct Hire

Salary: $115-120K DOE Plus Bonus and Relocation option

Responsibilities of Position:

Upholds all safety procedures and practices, ensuring safety for self and others

Provides technical expertise and oversight in process control programming

Maintains existing systems, including routine software backups

Tests and validates program logic

Documents all developed programs in accordance with established standards

Assists in identifying hardware and software requirements for operational effectiveness

Writes and executes capital projects, collaborating with contractors and maintenance teams

Prepares new business proposals

Designs panels and layouts, creates wiring schematics, and develops BOMs

Programs computer systems for troubleshooting and calibrating automation equipment

Develops training modules to support maintenance staff in equipment troubleshooting

Key Success Factors (6–18 months):

Analyze current systems and create a strategy for scalable growth

Implement control system upgrades to enhance plant productivity and capacity

Collaborate with IT to build and manage databases to improve process visibility and capability

Increase plant availability through automation and reliability improvements

Attributes/Skills Required/Sought:

Proficient in PLC programming (Allen Bradley and GE Fanuc preferred)

Experienced with HMI programming and configuration (Wonderware, Rockwell Software)

Familiar with Oracle databases and database-driven process improvements

Knowledge of industrial instrumentation and process control theory

Skilled in troubleshooting technical process data and control systems

Understanding of motors, drives, and field devices is a plus

Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles

Ability to read and mark up P&ID drawings

Comfortable working in warm/hot plant environments

Physically capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs

Must be able to kneel, crawl, crouch, stand, and walk for extended periods

Experience/Education Required/Sought:

BS in Electrical Engineering or Process Engineering

Experience with ladder logic programming for process automation/control

Must be able to comply with ITAR and/or EAR requirements (proof required during screening)
