Role Description
We are seeking a Contract Electronics Technician to join our engineering team and support ongoing development and validation efforts across hardware and mechatronics platforms. In this hands-on role, you’ll assist in the integration, testing, and debugging of mechanical and electronic systems for advanced robotics and sensing solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring hardware performance, assisting in data collection and analysis, and supporting troubleshooting workflows in a fast-paced, experimental setting. This is an exciting opportunity to work on real-world systems where attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and strong communication are essential.
Responsibilities
Assist with collection and analysis of performance data from mechanical and electronic systems
Assemble, test, and troubleshoot prototypes of embedded electronics and electro-mechanical devices
Support diagnostics and repair of hardware systems under development
Collaborate with engineers and report findings clearly through documentation and team discussions
Maintain workspaces and follow safe handling procedures for sensitive electronic components
Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes and lab workflows
Quality Assurance (QA) and testing activities
Skills & Qualifications
2+ years of experience in an electronics technician or similar hands-on technical role
Familiarity with Linux and terminal-based diagnostic tools
Proficient with basic office software (Word, Powerpoint, google docs, etc)
Basic understanding of electronics fundamentals (voltage, current, resistance, ESD precautions)
Comfortable with hand tools, soldering, and basic lab test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.)
Competent in using standard productivity software (word processing, spreadsheets)
Able to follow written procedures and schematics for assembly and testing
Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs occasionally
Strong organizational and communication skills
Contract Terms
Hourly Rate: $30–$50/hour
Time Commitment: 40–50 hours/week
Duration: 3 months
Possibility for contract extension or full-time conversion for exceptional candidates
