At North.Cloud, we’re building the next-generation cloud spend management platform, giving businesses greater clarity, control, and automation over their cloud investments. Our mission is to help organizations harness the full potential of the cloud with confidence and ease.

Backed by top-tier investors and trusted by global customers, we’re assembling a world-class team to redefine how businesses approach cloud infrastructure. If you’re looking for impact, growth, and the opportunity to shape the future of cloud management, North is the place to be.

About the role

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and backend systems to join our growing platform team. You’ll architect and ship systems that process and serve cloud cost data at scale—powering real-time financial insights and AI-driven recommendations.

This role blends software engineering, cloud architecture, and data modeling. Ideal for engineers who thrive in early-stage environments and want to build systems from the ground up.

What you’ll do

Design and implement large-scale data pipelines and cloud-based services in AWS.

Build and maintain APIs for querying real-time cloud spend, usage, and optimization insights.

Develop infrastructure as code (Terraform) and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).

Work across multi-cloud environments (AWS and GCP) to normalize and process cloud billing data.

Collaborate with the AI and FinOps teams to serve models that drive savings decisions.

Ensure robust system performance, scalability, and API security (OAuth, OpenAPI).

Contribute to engineering practices that prioritize clarity, performance, and maintainability.

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in software or data engineering, ideally in cloud-native environments.

Deep knowledge of AWS (Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, etc.) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).

Strong Python skills, especially for backend systems and data transformation pipelines.

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized workloads.

Familiarity with CI/CD workflows (GitLab Actions or similar).

Solid grasp of data structures and systems that power analytics or machine learning.

Bias toward clear code, fast iteration, and strong technical ownership.

Bonus points for

Experience with machine learning infrastructure or model deployment pipelines.

Familiarity with GCP’s billing and usage APIs.

Background in cloud FinOps, cost visibility, or usage analytics.

AWS certifications or contributions to open-source cloud tools.

Location

Hybrid—2–3 days/week at our West Village office in New York. Remote flexibility outside of that.

Benefits

Unlimited PTO

16-week fully paid parental leave (up to 20 weeks for birthing parents)

Company-wide breaks: last week of August + Dec 23–Jan 3

Top-tier health coverage (Anthem BlueCross Gold PPO, 75% employer-paid)

30-day sabbatical every 4 years

Ramp card for work expenses

Compensation

$160,000-$200,000 base salary, depending on experience. Equity also included.

Let’s build better cloud infrastructure.

If you're excited to work on fast, intelligent systems that drive real savings—and you love writing clean, production-ready code—we’d love to meet you.
