We’re seeking to connect a Senior Automation Machinery Manufacturing Engineer with a leading company in Precision Industrial & Medical Automation on a full-time basis. The role is in-person and located in San Jose, CA.
As a Senior Automation Machinery Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to join a passionate, motivated team and leverage your expertise in automation machinery and motion systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the mechanical design of high-precision, custom automation and motion control systems using SolidWorks and other CAD tools.
Architect multi-axis motion platforms and integrated systems for wafer handling, industrial assembly, and value-added manufacturing processes.
Translate complex customer specifications into actionable designs with a focus on performance, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability.
Create BOMs, engineering drawings, tolerance stacks, and customer-ready proposals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—sales, R&D, quality, and manufacturing—to ensure smooth execution from concept to production.
Support technical sales without carrying a quota; help qualify opportunities and scope requirements.
Conduct failure analyses and contribute to design evolution through technical reporting and continuous improvement.
Guide and mentor junior engineers; perform peer reviews and provide design oversight.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in automation machinery, motion systems, or semiconductor tool design.
Proficient in SolidWorks (or equivalent) and engineering analysis tools.
Deep expertise in linear actuators, rails, guides, and multi-axis motion system design.
Familiarity with wafer transfer mechanisms or semiconductor assembly equipment is a strong plus.
Excellent communication skills—you’re just as comfortable with a customer as you are with a CAD model.
