Embedded Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Embedded Engineer for a client in Phoenix, Arizona.

Rate Range: $60.00/hour to $75.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

For this particular assignment, candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with strong expertise in real-time embedded systems and graphics driver development. This role will focus on the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through implementation and verification, specifically for safety-critical systems.

Candidate MUST have experience with graphics drivers. Candidates without this type of experience cannot be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and define software requirements and architecture.

Design, develop, and maintain embedded software systems.

Develop and integrate software components using Embedded C/C++.

Implement and optimize software graphics drivers and widget libraries.

Conduct software integration and verification in compliance with standards like DO-178C.

Work on software for real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, LynxOS, DEOS, or Linux.

Develop and support A661 server-side applications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, systems, and test engineering.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.

Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in embedded software development.

Strong proficiency in Embedded C/C++.

Experience with real-time OS (VxWorks, LynxOS, DEOS, Linux).

Expertise in graphics driver development and widget library development.

Knowledge and experience with ARINC 661 (A661) server and DO-178C standards.

At least 3 years of experience with OpenGL.
