Optomi, in partnership with a market leader in the auto industry, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for an onsite position out of their office in Plano, TX. This candidate will be responsible for building the next generation of scalable, resilient services while collaborating with security, architecture, and platform engineering teams. This role will contribute to the development of reusable services, secure APIs, and scalable microservices frameworks across our platform. Ideal candidates will possess deep expertise in backend development, AWS, and secure service design with an innovative and curious mindset.

Experience of the right candidate:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
8–12 years of backend development experience with Java (Spring Boot).
Expertise in building microservices architectures with deep implementation knowledge (not just keyword familiarity).
Strong AWS experience including serverless architectures (e.g., Lambda), scaling, and load balancing.
Proficient in REST API design and related architectural principles.
Experience designing and integrating secure identity solutions using OIDC, SAML, OAuth2.0.
Working knowledge of Kafka and real-time streaming technologies.
Familiar with RBAC/ABAC models, scopes and claims-based access, and security monitoring patterns.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience building reusable platform frameworks.
Background in working with identity providers like OKTA, ForgeRock, Azure AD.
Experience with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Exposure to both RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with TypeScript and front-end technologies
Responsibilities of the right candidate:
Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native microservices using Java/Spring Boot on AWS.
Create reusable service frameworks, integration patterns, and reference architectures to support enterprise initiatives.
Lead development efforts across multiple projects, ensuring adherence to software engineering standards and best practices.
Implement secure authentication and authorization protocols, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML.
Collaborate with product owners, security, and DevOps teams to build secure, scalable applications.
Deliver SDKs, documentation, and onboarding materials to promote platform adoption.
Contribute to design discussions on system architecture, scalability, resiliency, and observability.
Develop solutions for real-time streaming platforms using Kafka or similar tools.
