SWBC is seeking a talented individual to assist with the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and general ledger reconciliations. This individual will also be responsible for assisting with budget analysis, year-end audit requests, quarterly regulatory filings, special projects and research, and reviewing payroll commission transactions.
Essential duties include the following:
Prepares monthly journal entries and general ledger reconciliations. Researches and assists implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
Assists with budget preparation and analysis, year-end SEC audit requests, monthly FINRA regulatory filings, and special projects and research.
Assists Accounting Supervisor with the preparation and review of payroll commission transactions, and helps facilitate the overall payroll function.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field of study from an accredited four-year college or university required.
Minimum of two (2) year of experience in accounting/bookkeeping including electronic interfaces to other system to include vendor and financial institutions, or related experience preferred.
Experience/knowledge with Investment Services firm a plus.
General knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Working knowledge of enterprise accounting systems.
Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills.
Strong analytical skills, attention to details, and be able to multitask.
Proficient skills in utilizing computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Able to maintain and convey confidential information.
Actively pursuing CPA License.
Able to sit for long periods of time performing sedentary activities.
