The John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University (WVU), an R1 research institution and AACSB-accredited college, invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor position in Entrepreneurship/Strategy. This full-time, non-tenure-track position is set to begin in August 2026.

Position Description

The successful candidate will:

Teach courses in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship.

Deliver high-quality instruction to both large and small class sizes, contributing to student success and engagement.

Participate in service activities, supporting departmental, college, and university initiatives in line with the college’s mission.

This position emphasizes teaching (80%) and service (20%).

A master’s degree or higher (Ph.D. or DBA) in Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Management, or a closely related field is required.

Demonstrated excellence in teaching and commitment to student success.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience teaching large-section undergraduate courses, though this is not required. More extensive experience will be viewed favorably.

A strong understanding of contemporary business challenges and opportunities, with a focus on critical thinking and experiential learning.

These qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

The John Chambers College of Business and Economics (B&E) was founded in November of 1951 and in 1954, became fully accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. B&E offers a Bachelor of Science in Economics (BSE) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with nine majors: Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, General Business, Global Supply Chain Management, Hospitality & Tourism, Management, Management Information Systems, and Marketing.
