Membership Assistant
Position Overview
The Orange County Chamber of Commerce is seeking a detail-oriented, enthusiastic Membership Associate to support our growing member base. This role is a dynamic blend of administrative work, sales, customer service, and accounts receivable/collections. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
Maintain and update the Chamber’s membership database with accuracy.
Process new member applications and renewals.
Prepare invoices, reports, welcome packets, and other materials.
Manage email communications and coordinate member follow-ups.
Monitor outstanding balances and initiate communications in a professional and courteous manner.
Collaborate with the team to track payments and follow up on overdue accounts.
Sales & Member Engagement
Assist with member outreach to promote benefits, events, and programs.
Support membership recruitment efforts by following up with leads and prospects.
Assist in onboarding new members and ensuring a smooth transition into the Chamber community.
Customer Service
Serve as a primary point of contact for current and prospective members.
Provide exceptional service by answering questions, resolving issues, and offering resources.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree a plus.
Minimum 2 years of administrative or customer service experience; experience in sales or collections preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Comfortable with technology and database systems (CRM experience a plus).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Friendly, team-oriented, and committed to delivering outstanding service.
Must possess have reliable transportation.
Must be able to work one early morning and one late night per month, and as requested for special events. Must be able to work one Saturday annually for signature event.
