NVR, Inc. is seeking a Network Engineer to join our Network Engineering team at our corporate headquarters in Reston, Virginia. We’re looking for talented professionals to join our world-class technology organization and help make someone's dream home a reality!
As an experienced Network Engineer, you will assist in installing and maintaining the network infrastructure that underpins all our services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver connectivity across our network domain. Your expertise will ensure the network runs optimally, enabling the business to connect and assist our customers in buying their dream homes.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Diagnose, investigate, document, and resolve network connectivity issues, bugs, and user experience problems with minimal supervision to support development and business teams.
Work closely with internal customers, external vendors, and regional resources to facilitate smooth project execution.
Provide on-site and remote technical assistance for break/fix, maintenance, and project-related activities, including the installation and continuous maintenance of endpoints, printers, servers, routers, and other network devices. Travel up to 50% of the time to business locations across the Eastern United States (candidate must have a clean driving record).
Identify, develop, and implement best practice solutions, and provide recommendations for sustainable and repeatable process improvements.
Facilitate discussions with business users to understand use cases, define needs and success criteria, and aid in user adoption with a focus on employee and customer experience.
Stay current with the latest technology trends to apply technology efficiently and quickly to company requirements. Complete specific training on assigned applications and technologies to engage the development team in debugging complex issues.

Experience with IT best practice frameworks (PMBOK, ITIL, LEAN, AGILE) and Operational Excellence concepts or methodologies is a plus.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Information Assurance, possibly coupled with certifications such as CCNA or CCNP; OR 5+ years of high-level and/or enterprise experience as a Network Technician or Network Engineer in a highly dynamic environment; OR an equivalent combination of higher education and network technology-related experience.
Significant experience in supporting large-scale, enterprise-class networks and cloud services.
Strong TCP/IP networking knowledge and familiarity with common networking and enterprise terms, as well as knowledge of physical network cabling, optic types, and test equipment.
Strong understanding of major Networking Command Line Protocols and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF).
Broad understanding of infrastructure technologies, with experience in cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
Excellent troubleshooting skills for networking, cybersecurity, routing, and inter-connectivity issues, including troubleshooting end-user device configuration and cabling connectivity issues.
Highly competent in all aspects of networking hardware, software, and copper/fiber connectivity installation, combined with a proven project delivery methodology.
Ability to lift heavy network equipment, climb A-frame ladders, and work in noisy environments.
