The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Maintenance Supervisor to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Engineering and Public Works- Drainage division.

Our work environment is one where innovation is not only supported but encouraged.nnA DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRAFFIC SIGNAL TECHNICIAN nGeneral DescriptionnThe purpose of this class within the organization is to perform installation, maintenance, inventory tracking, troubleshooting, and repairs of the City's traffic control devices.nThis class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

nEssential Functions:nnPerforms installation, maintenance, inventory tracking, troubleshooting, and repairs of the City's traffic control devices.

nCoordinates, analyzes, and updates traffic signals in the City.

nCollects traffic volume data, sets traffic counters, and performs related work as required.nMaintains, troubleshoots, and programs signal controllers; inspects, repairs, and fabricates traffic control devises.

nAssists in inspection of traffic signal construction projects; performs preventive maintenance on traffic control devices.nAssembles and disassembles equipment.

nMaintains system communication cables and equipment.nTrains Traffic Signal Technician trainees by appraising work, giving discipline recommendations, addressing complaints and resolving issues.nResponds to emergency and trouble calls for related work.

nnAdditional Duties:nnOrganizes data; develops filing and record keeping systems.nParticipates in monthly on-call rotation for all traffic control devices.nAssists the Sign Crew installing signs, as needed.nPerforms related work as assigned.nnMinimum Education and Experience Requirements:nnRequires High School graduation or GED equivalent.

nRequires two years traffic, electrical, maintenance or closely related experience.nnSpecial Certifications and Licenses:nnValid Texas Driver's LicensenInternational Municipal Signals Association (IMSA) Level 1 CertificationnTraffic Safety Work Zonennnn
