Summary Objective
Person County Government is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nutritionist II to join the Health Department's team. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community by providing comprehensive, hands-on nutritional services to a diverse population. As a Nutritionist II, you will serve individuals of all ages, from low- to high-risk participants, who require dietary counseling and support through the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).

This is a non-exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually.
The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to both the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Required Minimum Training:
Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetics Registration;
or Master's degree in Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, or Nutrition;
or graduation from a Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education-approved Didactic Program in Dietetics and two years nutrition experience;
or Dietetic Technician, Registered with the Commission on Dietetics Registration with a Bachelor's degree in any subject area from an accredited four-year college or university and two years nutrition experience;
or a Bachelor's of Science degree in Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition or Community Nutrition from an accredited four-year college or university and two years nutrition experience.

Breastfeeding Coordinator: Completion of 20 Hours of Continuing Education in Breastfeeding Every Five (5) Years
WIC Designated Breastfeeding Expert (DBE): Completion of the WIC Breastfeeding Support Curriculum Levels 1 -4 Within One (1) Year of Assuming the Role
WIC DBE Continuing Education Offered by the Local Agency's Regional WIC Lactation Area Training Centers for Health (LATCH)

A valid driver's license is required.
